Good question.
Peter J. Hannen, born and raised near Chicago, west of the "Lake", south of Highland Park. A growing little (well not so little anymore) place called Glenview. Yes, one of those double generic names. Glen as in Glenn Ellyn, Glenwood, Riverglen, Glengrove, GroveGlenn etc. View as in Riverview, Parkview, Valleyview, Quiteaview.... Yes, Glenview was a unique little town...suburb as he liked to call it.
Peter was fond of... of... well, waking up late for school, sleeping in general, music, as long as it wasn't an assignment, and games. A quiet sort of fellow, nice to everyone, never bothered his neighbors, always nice to animals, one of those fellows that no one would have expected to.... well.... anyway.
Peter went to a Highschool that had just opened it's doors for the first time, brand spankin' new. By the time he left it the pathetic place had only 3 year left in it before they shut it down because of upkeep costs. Actually the upkeep costs were for an older sister school of the same district that the Alma Mater's of said older decrepit highly expensive to upkeep school couldn't bare to shut down. He did manage to land some music awards in that school, a theater award for outstanding music ( having written/arranged most of the music for 2 variety shows), and the music department award: Yes the big wam bam take it all and run award. This managed to boost his ego just enough to try to major in music in college.
Not coming from a rich family, and not good enough to get a full ride at Northwestern University, Pete settled for 1/2 of that - - Western .... well, WIU, Western Illinois University. Somehow he got a degree in Music Education, BA.
